Opened in early September, Perth Diving Academy Hillarys offers the full range of professional service that clients have come to expect from Perth Diving Academy facilities.

To operate the Hillarys facility as a new Perth Diving Academy store, Troy Lane (well known to many customers from many Perth boat shows), was bought in to oversee the day to day running as facility manager. 

PADI Instructor, Ashleigh McLaren, (familiar to the former SQD store patrons) has been tasked with the position of training operations Manager.

Over the next few months Troy and Ashleigh will be putting together a team of dedicated instructors and dive masters to complete their training commitments and staff requirements.

The indoor pool and close proximately to the ocean makes the Hillarys shop a great location to work as an instructor as well as a great place to learn. The proven Perth Diving Academy training system has been refined for over 28years and using the up to date PADI certification and training packages means that the standards and safety for divers has never been better.

A minor refit of the store was completed during August 05 with displays rearranged and in some cases re-modelled. The service area was stripped out and moved into the main store area and the old service office has become the main administration office for Troy.
The result has made a huge area look even larger and lighter, stock has been filtering in and now the store is running about 50% of summer stock capacity.The Hire equipment (sold off during SQD's close-down sale) has all been replaced with Suunto Cobra air integrated dive computer and regulator sets that match the rest of the Perth Diving Academy hire equipment.
Nitrox fills will be available in the near future hopefully in time for the coming Western Rock Lobster season.

PDA Hillarys Dive Boat 'Wildcat'

Wildcat, the original SQD boat has been retained by Perth Diving Academy to operate until a new vessel can be sourced. 

'Wildcat' although surveyed for 31 passengers, will be working on a maximum number of 21 divers to keep it comfortable for divers. 

Plans are in the pipeline to replace the 12m Cat with a larger vessel to enable PDA Hillarys to operate day charters to Rottnest and other locations. 
In the meantime charters will be run out to the Marmion Marine Park at the rate of 3 per day or as bookings demand. 
Troy is running a multi-diver system along the lines of the 'Lionfish IV' dives specially for the Marmion Marine Park Dives. We anticipate some integration with the existing Fremantle Multi-diver system in the future when Rottnest dives come on-line from Hillarys but for the time being the dives will not be interchangeable due to the cost differences.
